The Eurasian Bank employees took part in an ecological clean-up in the Arqalan Petroglyph Park, located on the territory of the Main Botanical Garden of Almaty. Together with specialists from the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction, the Eurasians planted steppe plants that contribute to the preservation and development of the natural landscape.
Arqalan is a space where the natural environment combines with history. The petroglyphs displayed in the Park reflect the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people, and the concept of the project is aimed at fostering respect for nature and cultural heritage.
Gradually, such projects are becoming a sustainable practice for the Bank: the employees regularly participate in landscaping public spaces in different cities of Kazakhstan. Last year, 60 willow and tamarix seedlings were also planted in the territory of Arqalan.
“We consider environmental projects as an important area of our activity. These are not one-time actions, but consistent steps that help preserve natural areas and form a more responsible attitude towards the environment,” the Bank employees noted.
Today, Eurasian Bank is a member of Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition global program, which unites more than 150 organizations around the world. By 2030, its participants plan to plant 100 million trees worldwide. In addition to participating in the Priceless Planet Coalition, the Bank issues a special Eco Card, transaction bonuses on whioch are used for landscaping projects.
The Bank employees have previously participated in environmental campaigns and landscaping of social and public spaces in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kokshetau, Taldykorgan, Arkalyk and Taraz. The Bank will continue to expand the geography of environmental initiatives, supporting greening and landscaping in other cities of Kazakhstan.
