Eurasian Bank Warns: Cases of Fraud and Involvement of Citizens in Illegal Schemes Became More Frequent

Eurasian Bank draws the attention of customers to the growth of fraudulent activity in Kazakhstan and urges them to be especially vigilant.

“Missed delivery”

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the attackers send messages in messengers and SMS about allegedly “missed delivery.”

The user is prompted to click on the link and arrange a repeat delivery. However, the link leads to a fake website that mimics the official resources of courier services.
By entering personal and banking data, fraudsters gain access to confidential information, which can lead to the theft of funds.

False social benefits

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan warns about the dissemination of false information on social networks and messengers about the possibility of receiving social benefits.

In particular, there are reports that women can allegedly apply for unemployment benefits once their child reaches the age of 1.5 years by registering at a career center.
The official explanation is that such a scheme has no legal basis. A woman on parental leave retains her job and is not recognized as unemployed.

Important: providing false information in order to receive payments can be classified as fraud.

According to the agency, in 2025, more than 30 criminal cases were initiated in 12 regions of the country in connection with such incidents, and seven court verdicts have already been handed down in five regions.
