Eurasian Bank draws the attention of customers and parents of teenagers to the increasing cases of teenagers being involved in fraudulent schemes through the registration of SIM cards and accounts in messengers and social networks.
According to law enforcement agencies, the attackers offer minors a monetary reward for registering subscriber numbers and transferring access to accounts to third parties. In the future, such accounts may be used for fraudulent calls and other illegal activities.
Such schemes are part of organized cyberbullying, which has serious consequences for both the participants themselves and the citizens who become victims of deception.
Eurasian Bank recommends following the basic digital security measures:
- do not transfer your accounts and phone numbers to third parties;
- do not accept offers of “easy earnings” related to the registration of SIM cards or accounts;
- parents should discuss with teenagers the risks of participating in such schemes and responsibility for such actions;
- be attentive to suspicious activity on social networks and messengers.
Personal data protection and digital literacy remain one of the key security factors in the modern digital space.
